Here is a compilation of some of the renders I have completed over my first years of 3D modelling. While my early renders are not comparable to my more recent work, they show a clear progression in skills and artistic vision.
No textures were used here, the mesh being cut up to apply different materials. The topology is bad, with many random tris breaking edge flow.
A render of one of my friends' favourite car with a purple aesthetic. There are many visible tris towards the front, with visible stretching.
Originally designed to use toon-shading, all the materials are diffuse. I learnt a lot modelling this, though the final model has bad topology.
The colours on this render are quite bad, but I like the overall composition. The models themselves are good however.
Looking back at this, I can see many places for improvement in the materials. Especially, the roughness of the paint and chrome is too high. The models themselves had particularly unoptimised topology.
I used a smoke simulation for the first time in this render, and the Blender compositor to apply post processing effects.
The colours are a lot more coherent in this version, and I am a lot happier with the outcome. I also improved the waves in the water, and the material used. This shows how much weight is put in the materials and lighting, as it looks a lot better though the models have not changed.
This is in the same style as 4, rendered in EEVEE. The colours in this one came out well.
Low poly guitar equipment with cartoon block colours, rendered in EEVEE.
