Hello! I'm Cherry, a 3D artist; I have an impressive collection of generalist work and am currently expanding my stylised character and animation portfolio.
I model, rig, and animate primarily in Blender and program in C# in Unity to create games and programs. Working with new or familiar tools to create in a new way is very rewarding, and I implement new skills in future projects to help create the best project outcome.
My passion for 3D started in roughly 2010 using Anim8or, with the aim of modding new models into a game I was playing. While it would take at least a few years - and switching programs twice before settling on Blender - before I would manage to successfully create and render a model, I never gave up. I followed the rapidly growing collection of YouTube tutorials, read articles around the subject and studied CAD drawings of products I was interested in to try to imagine their form in 3D.
In about 2015, I had finally managed to render my first low-poly scene. It was, albeit rather simplistic, a full scene with models, materials and lighting. However, the excitement of realising that I was now able to create fully 3D scenes stuck with me, and continues to make me push my abilities and continue to create.
I have always been a musical person, starting piano lessons at 5 years old. Now, my main instrument is guitar, which I play and record. I was in a band with some of my local friends for a few years, but when our drummer left, I learnt to play drums and we recorded an EP. The recording and production was all done by myself, and I had to learn a lot about audio recording, production and sound design.
From product design at GCSE and reading articles online, I had developed an interest in woodworking. Despite having very limited experience, I decided to combine my interests to design and build a musical instrument.
Working with my minimal knowledge of how guitars were constructed, I decided to make an electric ukulele, using construction methods more akin to those of electric guitars. Armed with only basic knowledge and a few online articles, I set off to the hardware store to buy the materials needed... to make a workbench.
